Abstract

This text tells the story of the development of the theory, The Field of Play, through the developmental lens of Carolyn Kenny, who crafted the theory.  It emphasizes the integration between individual, culture, profession, and the natural world.  It is crafted in a performative writing style that emphasizes the oral tradition so prevalent in the Indigenous worldview and experience.

Author Biography

Carolyn Kenny, Antioch University

Carolyn Kenny, Ph.D., MT-BC, MTA is a Professor of Human Development and Indigenous Studies in the Antioch University PhD in Leadership and Change Program.  She is also a former Editor-in-Chief of Voices:  A World Forum for Music Therapy. She has published many books and articles and has offered presentations in many scholar gatherings around the world.  She lives in Santa Barbara, CA.
