Professor, Chair of Music Education and Music Therapy, East Carolina University. Ed.D. (creative therapies), M.Ed. (educational psychology), B.M. (music therapy), The University of Georgia. MT-BC (Board Certified-Music Therapist). Michelle has had extensive clinical music therapy experience with children with developmental disabilities in educational and residential settings. She has served as President of the Southeastern Region of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), the Council Coordinator for 9 AMTA committees, is currently President of the American Music Therapy Association, and serves on the Executive Board of AMTA. She has also been published in the Journal of Music Therapy and Music Therapy Perspectives.
