Suonare il Sé autentico: espressioni artistiche di un musicoterapista queer*
Questo scritto è un insolito ciclo auto-etnografico di parole, poesie e improvvisazioni che riflettono la mia esperienza vissuta come musicoterapista queer. Le improvvisazioni provengono dalla registrazione di una sessione di due giorni, tenutasi presso la Maureen Forrester Hall, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. Esprimendo la mia identità di musicoterapista queer, ho capito con maggior chiarezza il processo terapeutico-creativo che era al centro del mio lavoro con i clienti. La musica offerta come parte del mio contributo a questo numero speciale di ‘queering music therapy’, riconosce il coraggio e la pace necessari per abbracciare l’intreccio delle mie identità di compositore-musicoterapista e uomo queer cisgender.
* Socialmente eccentrico rispetto alle definizioni di normalità codificate dalla cultura dominante, anche in riferimento all’orientamento sessuale e all’identità di genere.
