Simon Gilbertson, GAMUT, Grieg Academy - Inst. of Music, University of Bergen, Norway

Simon Gilbertson is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Integrated MA in Music Therapy, Grieg Academy, University of Bergen. Before moving to Norway in 2010, he worked as a therapist, researcher and educator in England, Germany and Ireland. He has co-created and researched improvised music in therapy with children and adults with unique developmental biographies, and neurological illness/trauma. In 2008 he wrote 'Music therapy and traumatic brain injury: A light on a dark night' with David Aldridge based on his research of improvised music with individuals with severe nervous system injury.
