[Voices: Editorial]
Dear readers - let’s make a deal!
By Krzysztof Stachyra
Voices exists for our readers. We work for you and we want to involve you as much as possible during the process of creating our journal. The process of preparing the journal could be compared to a music therapy session; where the readers are our ‘clients,’ the articles are the tools of impact (music), and the editors are like therapists who lead the process. To reach the best results, we must all cooperate. Authors, readers and editors should be like a well-functioning organism. To get an effective process, we need your help and cooperation.
Remember that each of you can support the development of Voices by writing articles, sharing your ideas and experiences, interviewing people whose works inspires you and shows you the power of music and music therapy. We will be happy to hear about well-known and interesting music therapists and healers. We also welcome historical information about the development or transformation of music therapy in your region.
Voices' Interview Co-Editors are still working on Barbara Wheeler's great work on the history of the World Music Therapy Congresses. In this issue, you can find series of interviews about the XI World Congress of Music Therapy, which was held in Brisbane, Australia, in 2005. In the next issue, we will be focusing on the Congress that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina 2008. Anyone who took part in this event is invited to share memories and thoughts.
We are also preparing a new interview series called “Famous People." It is about a number of historically important music therapists whom many of us knew and worked with, but there is a risk that the next generation will not know.
Please let us know of anyone who you might be interested in interviewing or of other ideas for an interview by contacting one of us from the smiling team of the Interview Co-Editors: : Leslie Bunt, UK (Leslie.Bunt@uwe.ac.uk), Seung-A Kim, USA (skim@molloy.edu) or Krzysztof Stachyra, Poland (kris.stachyra@gmail.com).
