Ruth Bright
Ruth Bright is a pioneer of music therapy in Australia and a world-known author and presenter. She was Founding President of the Australian Music Therapy Association, serving in that inaugural role from 1975-1978. She also served as President of the World Federation of Music Therapy from 1990-1993. Her groundbreaking work and writing on music therapy in the fields of dementia, psychiatry, and grief has led to numerous publications, and The University of Melbourne conferred an Honorary Doctor of Music degree upon her in 2002 to recognize her many contributions both to the profession of and literature in Australian music therapy. She retired at the end of December 2009 and points out that, having started at the very beginning of January in 1960, she had completed half a century of MT. She is still active in music therapy as a consultant.

Jim Couture, MA, MT-BC, Port Angeles, WA, is currently the director of Encore! Adult Day Center - a music therapy based program for older adults, and Arts & Minds Memory Wellness Program - a music and arts based center for those struggling with early memory loss, current recipient of the Clallam County Public Health Hero award.

Cheryl Dileo, PhD, MT-BC is Carnell Professor of Music Therapy and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Music Therapy at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She is also Director of the Arts and Quality of Life Research Center (http://www.temple.edu/boyer/researchcenter).
Suzanne Hanser, Berklee College of Music
Suzanne Hanser, EdD, MT-BC is founding chair of the Music Therapy Department at Berklee College of Music. She is Past President of both the World Federation of Music Therapy and the National Association for Music Therapy. She has served as music therapist at the Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrated Therapies and research associate at the Phyllis F. Cantor Center for Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and as Research Scholar at the Women's Studies Research Center at Brandeis University. In 2006 she was named by the Boston Globe as one of eleven Bostonians Changing the World. In 2009 she was awarded the Sage Publications Prize for her article, "From ancient to integrative medicine: Models for music therapy."

Carolyn Kenny, Antioch University
Carolyn Kenny, PhD, MT-BC is currently a Professor of Human Development and Indigenous Studies in the Antioch University Ph.D. in Leadership and Change. She continues to conduct her private practice in Music Pscychotherapy and is a Co-editor-in-Chief (with Brynjulf Stige and Cheryl Dileo) for Voices: A World Forum for Music Therapy. She lives in Santa Barbara, California. She will be doing Music Therapy with veterans in Santa Barbara through the Santa Barbara VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic.
David Knott
David Knott , MT-BC, has worked as the music therapist in Seattle Children's Child Life Department since 2002. In April of 2011, he was able to increase to 32 hours per week. He serves most in-patient units and has developed a special interest in teaming with rehabilitation therapies. He is currently conducting a qualitative inquiry into the music therapy services provided to brain tumor patients from 2002 to 2011.
Anne Lipe, Converse College in Spartanburg, SC
Anne Lipe, Ph.D., MT-BC is Assistant Professor of Music Therapy at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She has been a music therapist for 30 years, working primarily with older adults in nursing homes and day care centers. She has developed an assessment tool for older adults with dementia, the Music-Based Evaluation of Cognitive Functioning, which is the subject of several research publications. She also has offered numerous conference presentations on the topic of music therapy assessment. Other professional interests include music therapy and spirituality, including parish-based approaches to music therapy, and the use of music-based approaches in non-violence training programs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Terra Merrill, Eastern Michigan University
Theresa (Terra) Merrill, PhD, MT-BC, Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery is Assistant Professor of Music Therapy at Eastern Michigan University. She is a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery.

Ellen Rayfield, LCPC, MT-BC is semi-retired. She is employed parttime as a music therapist at Glenkirk, Northbrook, IL.

Brynjulf Stige, PhD is Professor at the University of Bergen. He is Head of Research, GAMUT, Uni Health, and Co editor (with C. Kenny and C. Dileo) of Voices.
Susan Summers, Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia
Susan Summers, MMT, MTA, is a member of the music therapy faculty at Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and has over twenty years of clinical practice with older adults and in hospice care. Susan is the coordinator of Dr. Diane Austin's Vancouver Vocal Psychotherapy Intensive and is currently a doctoral student in Antioch University's Leadership and Change program.
Dale Taylor
Dale Taylor, PhD, MT-BC (taylordb@uwec.edu) retired in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he founded the music therapy program and served eight years as Chair of the Department of Allied Health Professions. He recently published a 2nd edition of his book Biomedical Foundations of Music as Therapy. Currently he is Chair of the Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care and continues to serve on the AMTA International Relations Committee.
Barbara Wheeler
Barbara L. Wheeler, PhD, MT-BC recently retired from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is living in Beach Haven, NJ. She continues teaching, presenting, writing, and consulting. She is Interview Co-Editor for Voices and responsible for this series on the World Congresses of Music Therapy.

Nadine Wobus, MM, MT-BC is in private practice in Bowie, MD, working with children and adults with a variety of special needs and abilities. A Singer/Pianist, her CD, "Positively," was released in March, 2009.

His research foci are microanalyses in music therapy, emotion and music therapy. He is Co Discussion Editor of Voices and does guest teaching and research projects all over Europe, US and down under.
